Shrimp Curry with Brown Basmati and Wild Rice


You can make this curry, as hot or as mild as you like.  It’s a perfect dish to warm you and your loved ones, on a chilly night.


  • 250g Rice
  • 500g Water
  • 1 Handful Fresh Parsley (Chopped)
  • 500g Frozen Peeled Shrimp
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 2T Hot / Mild Curry Powder
  • 1T Garam Masala
  • 1/4t Cumin Powder
  • 1t Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tomato (Chopped)
  • 2T Butter
  • 1 Small Potato (Peeled and grated)
  • 1c Water
  • Salt and Peper


  • Boil Rice in Water, according to pack instructions.sc8
  • Using a Mortar and Pestle, combine the garlic, curry powder, garam masala, cumin, coriander and lemon juice.


  • In a pan, melt the butter on high heat


  • add the shrimps, tomato and potato


  • boil for 10 minutes


  • add the paste, 1c water, salt and pepper
  • boil for 10 minutes
  • add parsley


  • turn off the heat, cover with a cloth and lid
  • serve hot.
